North York Moors Waymarker

Standing tall amidst the expansive beauty of the North York Moors, this classic fingerpost points the way to charming destinations. To the left, a path winds towards Lealholm, just 3¾ miles away, a picturesque village nestled in the Esk Valley. To the right, 11 miles journey brings you to Guisborough, a historic market town on the edge of the moors. The 'Yorks North Riding C.C.' emblem atop the post is a nod to the area's rich heritage, representing the historic county council that once maintained these vital routes. Imagine the countless adventures and quiet moments these signs have witnessed, guiding explorers and locals alike through rolling hills, patchwork fields, and vast, open skies. It’s a perfect reminder that sometimes, the most beautiful paths are found by following the signs.
